Licensed Industrial Wastewater Operator

Leading the Future of Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operations

Licensed Industrial Wastewater Operator | Educator | Environmental Leader

Michael Guarriello is a licensed industrial wastewater and boiler operator based in New Jersey, where industry and the environment meet head-on. He runs treatment systems that keep groundwater and surface water clean at some of the region’s most complex remediation projects—including U.S. EPA Superfund sites—balancing regulatory precision with real-world field decisions.

With nearly a decade in the water sector, Michael has led operations across high-stakes construction, industrial, and environmental settings. His work centers on system optimization, chemical process design, and treatment plant operations that merge compliance, performance, and innovation. He currently holds an N2 NJDEP license and is advancing toward the N3 and N4, continuing to refine his trade in the science and practice of water.

In addition to field operations, Michael teaches Water & Wastewater Treatment at Rutgers University, where he brings real-world experience to the next generation of environmental professionals. His leadership style draws from collaboration, precision, and grit.

Michael’s mission is simple: to elevate the standard of industrial water operations and prove that doing it right is doing it better.
